The paperwork was accidentally set on top of the hot plate, but definitely not heavy enough to engage, and the heat plate is no longer working unless I push down with my hand, a coffee cup is not heavy enough to engage it now so something has malfunctioned . I purchased this last spring and I am no longer eligible for a replacement or refund and just about burned down my office
